Nothing else to say..., perhaps, just run the previous clip again. This gentleman, Tim O'Reilly has not only written history about the Internet, he's actually making the history. Well, at least a part of it. The topic is huge, world-wide talked about, ...endless results for "web 2.0" searches on engines. You may watch some hot issues on the playlist of the Web 2.0 Summit 2008. Another interesting (yet rather old) web 2.0 related video is the following: A clear, complex, brilliantly associative mind, a fluent speaker, ...quite a CEO. I dare one single remark, though..., --just as a Google "consumer": G guys, you're loosing ground behind, to go nowhere ahead! |

Well, as no one breaks through, I have to explain... In fact, I really have to, as I got some feedback (--they don't even have the ...guts to put it upfront, right here), saying I was quite daring to talk like that about Mr. E.S. and the comp. OK, if that was "daring", then let me further detail: Indeed, can't say big G is going "nowhere", since they are in fact making some way, somewhere... I mean --chasing the dust clouds behind their competitors' footsteps. My feed-backers may come up again now, saying why do I care if big G's chasing dust or beating bushes, what's my problem? Right, what is it?! 1. One is big G had a great start, a strategy, a focus... and, by my opinion, is now losing ground. They've invested a great deal of whatever it takes in extending, refining, developing the web content indexing, they've actually recreated and redefined the search engine concept. And now they tend to forsake this tremendous asset, for the sake of just being trendy (sexy, cool, you know...).
I guess every web developer, business, company should define its own personality and stick to it. 2. Another point is big G has remarkably regionalized its framework, actually created a multinational internet business model, but they went such deep, and that far, so they're lately kind of loosing control.
3. And so, we come close to my third problem I have with big G. Don't think I'm displeased with the my $ .xx total revenue after, say--, a few months of several good thousands accesses, on one site or another. I know, --it's behavioural, its contextual, its dependable... (And I don't count on that money.) But, hack, that's no business either, no deal at all!
No, I'm not hilarious, sarcastic neither. I'm really and awfully upset on this matter. I'm in web development, programming, design, whatever..., I optimize a page for web, development, concept, design, the like..., I configure the Adsense module no channel, so that it goes randomly. And what do you think I finally get on the page? Well, I get "web-design" references, I get "web concept" links, I get "development" pointers, so I get all my competion --stalls, counters wide open, here on my pages. I get all my business bullies shouting loud to my potential customers, from my very own website. Now you say: isn't that stupidly simple? I mean, --no subtleness, no next-step logic, no "end-user satisfaction" after all...!? _________________________ L.E. Had a second thought and resolved I got to be more explicit on this final issue: ...Then, what kind of ads do I expect on my pages?! Whatever! Provided they do not compete, but complete my content. |
